SAFER alternative
Same FMCSA data. A workflow built for this decade.
FlitIQ pulls from the same FMCSA SAFER, L&I, and SMS systems you're using today — but with full-text search across 2.1M carriers, change alerts on the ones you care about, AI risk summaries, and a CRM pipeline so the work you've already done isn't trapped in browser tabs.
Search like Google
Type a name, DOT, MC, or city — get matches as you type. No more entering exact identifiers and waiting for full page reloads.
Alerts on saved carriers
Save a carrier and get notified when their Safety Rating changes, an OOS order lands, or their authority status flips. SAFER doesn't notify you of anything.
Pipeline built in
Carrier vetting is half the job. The other half is tracking who you talked to, what stage they're in, and when to follow up. That's a separate tool today — for us it's the same tool.

Frequently asked questions
›Does FlitIQ use the same data as SAFER?
Yes. FlitIQ sources from the same FMCSA SAFER system, the Licensing & Insurance database, and the Safety Measurement System. We refresh daily across all 2.1M+ registered carriers. The difference isn't the data — it's the interface, search, alerts, and the CRM layer on top.
›Is SAFER going away?
No. SAFER remains the canonical free FMCSA portal. FlitIQ is built for people who use SAFER all day and want better workflow — faster search, alerts on saved carriers, pipeline tracking, and PDF reports. SAFER is what you should still link to when you need the official source.
›Why is SAFER so slow?
SAFER is a 1990s-era government application that wasn't designed for the volume or workflow of modern freight brokering. It serves single-carrier lookups well but doesn't support bulk operations, saved searches, alerts, or CRM workflows that brokers and shippers need day to day.
›Can I see CSA scores on FlitIQ?
Yes. All seven BASIC categories — Unsafe Driving, Hours-of-Service, Driver Fitness, Controlled Substances, Vehicle Maintenance, Hazmat, and Crash Indicator — are shown with the carrier's percentile and the FMCSA threshold side-by-side on every carrier page.
›What happens when FMCSA data is unavailable?
FlitIQ caches the most recent successful response for every carrier. If FMCSA upstream is down or transitioning (like the Motus migration in May 2026), the carrier page shows the last-good data with a visible 'cached data' banner so you know what you're looking at.
